Just for Kids
At Emerald West Family Dentistry, we love kids and want to make your whole family feel welcome. Most children begin regular six month cleanings between the ages of 3 and 4. Most often, this first visit is just to get them accustomed to "riding in the chair", opening their mouths, and meeting a dentist and hygienist.
After each visit, all of our great patients between the ages of 3 and 17 (and some grown ups, too) are awarded a token to play our egg machine where they can play until they win either sugar free candy or a colorful plastic egg with a small toy hidden inside. We also offer plenty of books, toys, and a free Ms. Pacman game machine to keep you entertained. All of our exam rooms also have personal televisions where you can watch cartoons or your favorite show to keep you relaxed during your dental experience.

VISIT THE DENTIST WITH MARTY

Visit the dentist with Marty is a delight to children. It’s an excellent way to prepare a child for a dental visit. Sit a very young child on your lap and go through the story together, or children three years and older can navigate the story by themselves. Turn the audio on and be read to, or turn it off and read it yourself. Discover foods that are healthy (and some that are not), learn about wearing a mouthguard when playing sports, and investigate the objects in a dentist’s office from the X-ray machine to the dental bib. Each time you read the story, you may make new discoveries!

MouthPower™ online—discover the power of a healthy smile!
MouthPower.org offers an entertaining and educational web experience where participants run experiments, make a tooth timeline, see how much a dentist visit has changed, create original posters, earn certificates and more.
